As of April 2022, Walter has lived at Barnhill Marina for 40 years! Here's what he wrote about it.
Marina Life:

We live a different life from the norm.
Not sure any us of want to be,
“Normal”
Swy we’re here 😜😜

We have a lifestyle unlike any who live ashore.

Closer to nature not apart.
​
Marine life all around.
Birds flying and wading looking for breakfast in shallow low tide of all kinds,
seagulls,
flocks of geese
pelicans,
cormorants,
Night Herron,
Blue Herron,
Tall White Herron, finches, swallow’s and sparrows abound.

Fish on season show and multiply early spring.
Sea Birds feasting on the hatch.
Mackerel or Herring?: a new hatch
A squirrels regular visit for peanuts.
She’s friendly with the cats?
Occasional manta ray with young and a jellyfish visible on low tide a welcome site.
Mornings the rowing teams at practice, singles, doubles, and niners with accompanying coaches in powerboats.
Sailboats heading out for a daily romp with the wind spirits.
Kids El Toro sailing class’s, kayaker’s and swimmers.

The daily empty sand barge leaving early and returning full with gunnels awash.

Morning time is quiet time on my roof with cats and
squirrel and coffee and incredible sunrises.
Sunset is spectacular also with view of
“The City”

Of coarse the daily train horns but it’s all a part of being here!
The land world tries to encroach but we resist.
Been here 40 years now and hope to stay.
